University fined for failure to manage asbestos

Lincoln University has been fined for putting students, staff and contractors at risk of asbestos exposure.

The management failings were first noticed on 24th February 2010 when a university lecturer became trapped in a room with a broken door lock.

Work at height tragedy results in £110,000 fine

An attempt to improvise a working platform from a metal stillage container mounted on the forks of a forklift truck ended in tragedy when the 60-year old occupant fell from it after it slipped from the forks.

He fell 4 metres on to concrete and struck his head, sustaining injuries from which he died hours later.

£61,000 fine after Thames Water seawge spill
